How to Get Your Nevada Real Estate License: A Step-by-Step Guide
Thinking about launching a career in real estate? You’ve made a great choice. Nevada is a vibrant, fast-growing market with massive opportunities, but getting your foot in the door requires navigating a specific licensing process.
To make things easy, I’ve broken down the exact steps you need to take to get your Nevada Real Estate License and hit the ground running. Here is a pdf of all the below steps
Step 1: Register for Your 120 Hours of Required Education
Before anything else, you must complete 120 hours of education courses approved by the Nevada Real Estate Division.
While there are several options out there, I highly recommend Key Realty School.
-
Contact: 877-220-8375 | Key Realty School
-
Location: 6750 Via Austi Parkway #100, Las Vegas, NV 89119
-
Cost: $398 to $627
Pro Tip: If your schedule allows, choose the live or live-stream courses. The pass rate for at-home self-study is incredibly low. Also, watch out for discount schools that try to upsell you later on.
Step 2: Complete Your Fingerprinting and Background Check
Do this during your very first week of real estate school. Even if you’ve been fingerprinted for another job or agency, the Division requires a brand-new set. The FBI background check can take up to 8 weeks, so getting this done early ensures it won't delay your license once you pass your exams.
-
Cost: $60–$75 at authorized Nevada Real Estate Division fingerprint vendors
Step 3: Choose the Right Team & Mentor
Passing the school exam teaches you the laws, but it doesn't teach you how to actually run a successful real estate business. That’s where I come in.
When you align with me at eXp Realty, you aren't just joining a massive, modern cloud brokerage—you are getting a dedicated, local mentor right here in Las Vegas to help you navigate your transactions. Through our organization within eXp, newly licensed agents access to daily huddles, accountability groups and mentoring to ensure you gain the practical, real-world knowledge required to build a sustainable career from day one.
I don't just hand you a training manual and wish you luck. I am here to help you:
-
Master the local market so you can speak to clients with absolute confidence.
-
Navigate complex contracts and avoid the common pitfalls new agents face.
-
Build an lead-generation engine that keeps your pipeline full. Our organization agents have access to a lead generation system that produces 2 - 6 qualified buyer leads per day, no start up or split fees.

Step 4: Pass the Nevada Real Estate Licensing Exam
Once your schooling is wrapped up, it’s test time. You will need to register for the Nevada Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Exam through the state's exam provider, Pearson VUE.
-
Contact: 888-248-8055 | Pearson VUE
-
Cost: $125
Step 5: Partner with a Sponsor & Apply to eXp Realty
When you're ready to join eXp Realty, reach out to me directly at 702-460-4965. I will act as your sponsor. Our onboarding team will walk you through the precise steps required by our state broker to finalize your licensing.
When completing your eXp Realty Join Application, simply enter Frank Regina as your sponsor name.
-
eXp Fees: $149 start-up fee, and an $85 monthly cloud brokerage fee.
-
Note: We will also discuss eXp unique three income opportunities and commission splits during this phase.
Step 6: Apply for Your Nevada Real Estate Salesperson License
Once you have your passing exam certificate (which is valid for one year from your test date), you can officially apply for your license. You can find the application and initial requirements checklist on the Nevada Real Estate Division Website.
Step 7: Join the Las Vegas Realtors Association (LVR)
Within 45 days of joining a real estate office, you are required to join the local association. Joining LVR automatically grants you membership to the National and State Associations of Realtors. Most importantly, this gives you MLS access and the apps required to actually enter and show properties.
-
Cost: $1,000 to $2,100 (this is prorated depending on the month of the year you join).
